Korean businesses will render assistance in developing nanoindustry in Russia

December 16, 2008

A meeting of RosNOU Science and Technology Council was held on Tuesday, December 16th. Corresponding Member of RAS, Professor Edward Son, adviser to the Rector of MIPT and deputy director of the Research Center of Impulse Excitations Thermal Physics addressed the meeting. Professor Son said that he thinks nanotubes application technology lags far behind nanotube production processes mainly because Russian production facilities are not prepared for updating and raising products prices, even if the quality of such products would be significantly improved.

Collaboration with Korean industrial producers, planning to set up their manufacturing firms in Russia, may help Russian nanoindustry to gain momentum.

The RosNOU STC made a decision to consider cooperation prospects, offered by Professor Son, and continue discussions within the framework of joint scientific seminars.
