Eugenie Yasin: «It came as a surprise to me that a non-government university could be involved in such grand scientific research»
Yaroslav I. Kuz’minov, Rector of the SU-HSE (the State University-Higher School of Economics) and Eugenie G. Yasin, scientific advisor, visited the Russian New University.
RosNOU researchers showed to the visitors one of their latest scientific developments — a compact vertical-axis wind-energetic turbine. The SU-HSE officials were introduced to the device “Cardiocode”, the University corporate information system “Vector”, information security and video conference communication systems and other achievements of the RosNOU Innovation Park.
After the visit Eugenie Yasin said, “It came as a surprise to me that a non-government university could be involved in such grand scientific research. There are a lot of clever and resourceful people in Russia and it always arouses mixed feelings — admiration and indignation. Admiration is a natural reaction, but as for indignation, it results from a frequently occurring situation when brilliant developments and discoveries fade into obscurity without government support.
And all of the RosNOU innovations are of profound significance. Vertical-axis wind-energetic turbines can provide cheap energy for many remote territories of Russia. Distance education developments can be helpful for the whole formal education system of the country. In the RosNOU Center of Health-saving Technologies it took no more than 5 minutes to check my vascular system with “Cardiocode”, a wonderful medical device. This is a unique scientific development. I wish more specialists over the world were acquainted with the device.”
