Theatre Day in RosNOU
On March 27 the International Theatre Day is celebrated around the world. It was established in Vienne in 1961 and since then it is celebrated annually by actors and theatre-goers. In RosNOU we have our own students’ theatre.
On March 22 actors of the students’ theatre gave a concert in the RosNOU Malachite Hall. It became a tradition to date new productions of students’ theatres for the International Theatre Day. The festival this year was no exception; the audience was shown new performance by RosNOU students’ theatre participants. They also did numbers that were to be performed at the festival of students’ arts “Festos”. Those who were present in the RosNOU Malachite Hall on the Day had an opportunity of seeing the performance too.
The RosNOU students’ theatre has celebrated its eighth birthday. Natalya Ivanovna Kursevich, a leading actress of the Central Academic Theatre of Russian Army, heads the company. After it was founded, more than 200 students have taken part in the activities of the students’ theatre. It turned out to be the beginning of a stage career for some of them; others got invaluable experience which would sure help them after their graduation from the University.
The RosNOU students’ theatre was awarded more than 80 prizes and diplomas. The company took part in various gala-performances, including those in the Church of Christ the Saviour, the “Rossiya” concert hall, Moscow Variety Art Theatre and in the stadium of “Luzniki”.
The company of the students’ theatre takes part in various competitions and festivals. Its participants perform in the premises of RosNOU, arrange charity concerts and collaborate with other students’ theatres. And to crown it all, if and when one becomes a member of the company, he or she is given an opportunity of mixing with amusing people, making new friends and getting a lot of positive emotions.
