To earn 35 millions is an achievable goal
The Russian New University starts an innovation project “Nanobusiness”. The idea of the project is a rapid advancement of the major scientific breakthrough developed by researchers of the Carbon Nanomaterials Laboratory of RosNOU, namely nanotubes. The International Nanotechnology Forum “Nanoforum” declared that nanotubes, developed in RosNOU, are among the purest materials in the world. Not only the object chosen for advancement makes the project unique. Its implementation ensures the possibility of earning 35 or more million roubles. A remarkable thing about the project is also the team that is to take part in the experiment. The RosNOU board pin their hopes mainly on RosNOU students and graduates.
Vladimir Zernov, rector of RosNOU, said: “About 30.000 students are studying in RosNOU. Many senior students start working before they graduate from the university. And that’s the right start in life.Theory is essential but the importance of practice can scarcely be overestimated. We arrange uncommon and promising practical training for our students. They get an opportunity of both developing their creative abilities and business skills. Besides, it can actually make them financially independent.”
The prospects of our business-proposal can be assessed on the basis of would-be returns on nanotubes sale. The value of one gram of nanotubes in the USA goes up to several thousand dollars. RosNOU is ready to sell its products at the price of about 10 dollars (about 340 rubles) for a gram. Nanotubes produced by RosNOU scientists are of very high quality due to a special technology, which reduces their production costs. They do not need any further refinement. That is what distinguishes RosNOU nanotubes from all other nanotubes produced elsewhere in Russia or abroad . A student of the University is expected to get 10% of the amount after selling out a consignment of nanotubes. If a kilogram of nanotubes brought RosNOU about 350 thousand rubles, the student who would manage to sell them out could earn 35 thousand roubles. Selling out as much as 1 ton of nanotubes could yield the amount of 35 million roubles quoted in the heading.
“Last year we introduced a new course “Innovation Projects Development and Implementation (methodology and practice)” into the curriculum of our University. We hope it will help our senior students and graduates to show their worth as talented innovation managers”, said Zurab Otarashvily, head of the Scientific and Innovation Division of RosNOU. “We can vouch for it that there are very talented young people among our students. Unfortunately some people regard the word “innovations” with a sort of distrust. Innovations are not only our tomorrow but our present day realities”.
RosNOU’s board will consider every proposal of prospective participants of the project. We welcome not only students and graduates of our University but anyone who may be interested in the project.
