Graduation Ceremony at the RosNOU Second Higher Education Department

March 12, 2010

In mid-February the RosNOU Department of Complementary (Second) Higher Education held its annual graduation ceremony after this year’s winter vacation was over. The ceremony was festive and enthusiastic.

Over a hundred graduates got their second education certificates in the following specialties:

  • linguistics;
  • psychology;
  • law;
  • finances and credit;
  • accounting, analysis and auditing;
  • social and cultural service in tourist and travel industry.

"We will be glad to meet you and work together again”, RosNOU teachers told the graduates. “And we advise many of you to continue their education as postgraduate students at RosNOU”, they added.

The new graduates expressed their gratitude in their turn: "We say “Goodbye” but not “Farewell”. Our feelings are warm and at the same time a little bit sad, but we are sure we will be glad to come here again."

“I entered RosNOU quite by chance, I simply work in the vicinity of the University”, said Irina, one of the graduates. “I never doubt my decision was right. Moreover, a couple of my friends came to study here on my recommendation”.

"Why did you choose to go into the second degree?"

“The idea was not simply to get one more diploma. I was eager to acquire professional knowledge. I hold a high office, and I need to improve my knowledge of law. That is why I entered the University.”

Marina M. Novikova, head of the Department, commented: “Students who are eager to get a second higher education have two major motives. The first one is to confirm their status; that is why top managers, directors and chief accountants come to study here. The second motive is to gain knowledge and become more competitive. People who come to us are conscious of the prospects which broader knowledge provides.
