Video conference “Updating of the Russian Education System: Tasks of the Centre and Regions”

A number of higher education and mass media officials, politicians and journalists took part in the conference including Yuri Karabasov, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Education Committee, Yaroslav Kuz’minov, rector of the State University-Higher School of Economics and chairman of the RF Public Chamber on Education Development, Vladimir Zernov, RosNOU rector and chairman of the Council of the Russian Non-Governmental Higher Education Institutions Association, Georgy Maier, TSU rector, Vladimir Demkin, pro-rector of TSU, Nickolai Pustovoi, NSTU rector, Yuri Kiryushin, AltSU rector, Imran Ackperov, IUB&P(Rostov) rector, Yackov L’vovich, VIVT rector, Vladimir Titov, VSTI rector, Sergei Kortov, pro-rector USTU-UPI, Yuri Shurygin, TUSUR(Tomsk) rector, Eugene Minnibaev, deputy chairman of the Expert Council on Vocational Training of the RF State Duma Education and Science Committee, Professor Grigori Klyucharev of the RAS Sociology Institute and many other.

Victor Kress, Tomsk area governor and a member of the RF State Council, presided over the meeting.

The video conference was arranged and operated through Tomsk State University and Russian New University videoconferencing systems. Officials and staff members of various higher education institutions from all over Russia, from Tomsk, Barnaul, Voronezh, Rostov-on-Don, Omsk, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk and other regions, took part in the meeting.
