RosNOU Innovations now in Poland

November 2, 2011

The Russian New University and the State School of Higher Professional Education (SSHPE) of the city of Plotsk, Poland, have been collaborating within the framework of the Agreement on Scientific and Educational Cooperation for four years already. The new academic year of 2011-2012 began with an impressive opening ceremony. Professor Vladimir Minaev, vice-rector of RosNOU, and Nafis Gadelshina, director of the RosNOU Health Saving Technology Center, attended the event. Thanks to the endeavors of our Polish colleagues, this was a grand event. Most of the citizens of Plotsk came to take part in the event. The Polish president and the mare of Plotsk did homage to the opening ceremony which was accompanied by the triumphant SSHPE banner march and the masterly play of the city symphonic orchestra. Delegations from some Polish provinces took part in the event together with RosNOU senior officials and their colleagues from the Ukrainian University of Uman’. The famous Plotsk SSHPE chorus and some Polish Seim Senators, distinguished businessmen and representatives of Polish political parties, heads of many Plotsk educational institutions and their colleagues from other cities, officials of the city administration and some government bodies (police, fire emergency, etc.) participated in the event. It was attended by numerous members of the press and other mass media (provincial, municipal those of the Catholic church, etc.).

At the new academic year opening ceremony within the framework of cooperation the RosNOU delegation presented the Plotsk State School with a new medical device developed by RosNOU specialists. The device, called “Cardiocode”, was designed for cardiovascular system diagnostics. Experts from governmental public health services, medical centers, hospitals, ambulance stations and medical convoys as well as private hospitals took part in the event.

Vladimir Minaev, vice-rector of RosNOU, read the complimentary address from Professor, Vladimir Zernov, rector of RosNOU, in honor of the new academic year opening at SSHPE. There were marked innovative prospects of the two universities cooperation in the address. Vladimir Minaev presented Professor Gzhivach, rector of the School, with a “Cardiocode” medical device to a storm of applause. John Kalinovsky, vice-rector on student´s affairs of the Plotsk SSHPE, made special mention of unique potentialities of the device, which he had witnessed in person. He promised to do his best to find an appropriate place for it in the teaching process of the School’s new Branch – The Research Institute for Human Health. Eva Malinovskaya, vice-rector of the SSHPE development, associated herself with his opinion.

She added that such equipment appearing in Poland could be regarded as a breakthrough in the implementation of European standard medical technologies in the country. And now the matter depends entirely upon the Polish party to popularize the RosNOU scientific achievement in Europe. Nafisa Gadelshina gave a master class within the framework of the RosNOU delegation visit. She held a trial demonstration of the ‘Cardiocode’ device for students of the Polish Research Institute for Human Health, as well as for practitioners of medicine and nurse staff of public health services from many Polish provinces. Those present showed a keen interest in the device.

The Polish authorities decided to invite RosNOU researchers before the end of this year again to carry out a marathon seminar on ‘Cardiocode’ for Polish cardiologists. It ought to be noted that the Polish colleagues not only saw unique potentialities of the “Cardiocode” device in proper perspective, but also tried it out. Ph.D. in medical sciences

Slodki, director of The Research Institute for Human Health, and Ph.D. in medical sciences Glovatskaya, his deputy, both young and ambitions professionals, took the lead in the advanced implementation of the “Cardiocode” device in the teaching process and medical practice. That day the Polish party organized a press conference “Innovative Medical Technologies for Polish Educational and Scientific Systems”. There were province representatives, the TV, radio, and press members taking part in it. Discussions concerned the ways this medical device can be applied for the medical examination of students and professors, as well as in the innovative medical technologies teaching process of the new Institute’s students.

Professor Minaev spoke about the history of this innovative medical equipment. He remarked ironically that “Russians are slow starters but they drive fast” and noted that it was critical to find a proper way to cope with such a grave situation as high cardiovascular diseases mortality rate in the Russian Federation. Kristina Badovskaya, a well-recognized specialist in cardiology, advocated Professor Vladimir Minaev and said:”Finally we have found a solution of cardiac problems of the Polish people and families. We should not let the chance slip”. Mass media members stormed Nafisa Gadelshina with questions about applied medicine aspects of the “Cardiocode” device use for teaching process and scientific research in Poland.

N. Gachinskaya, head of the SSHPE Center for International Education, was the major coordinator of the RosNOU delegation visit. It was she who arranged workshops and the press conference.

She faced a torrent of questions about future collaboration perspectives and its new goals. N.Gachinskaya had performed great services for the two Universities because their cooperation has made great progress mainly due to her activity. The results of the meeting were reported in numerous mass media. Their front page news headlines contained the name "Cardiocode". Journalists complimented and praised the achievement. It is important to expand this success. RosNOU and the Plotsk SSHPE have a lot of scientific and innovative capacity to score new big successes.
