RosNOU and the German Academy of Management and Economics (Hanover). (http://davw.de/) have signed a cooperation agreement recently.

The parties outlined the priority areas of cooperation for the nearest future as follows:

• accreditation of joint academic programs;
• exchanging of students, masters and doctoral candidates;
• joint diplomas/certificates of vocational education to provide opportunities for students to get a job in the Russian Federation as well as in Germany.

This cooperation is to open new prospects for RosNOU students in the international labor market.

In mid-February the RosNOU Department of Complementary (Second) Higher Education held its annual graduation ceremony after this year’s winter vacation was over. The ceremony was festive and enthusiastic.

On Tuesday, March 2, a meeting of Scientific and Technical Council was held in RosNOU.

The participants tackled the subject of research and developments in the field of ultrashort electromagnetic pulses.

Researchers of Voronezh State University and representatives of "Lagis"(«Лагис»), a trading company, informed the RosNOU STC about the latest developments in this area by VSU and some foreign scientific centers. They also reported about the application of ultrashort electromagnetic pulse properties to provide information security.

The meeting resulted in RosNOU and VSU starting a joint research program in the field of ultrashort pulse fields.

On February 17, Manuel Antonio Barrantes, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Costa Rica in The Russian Federation, visited RosNOU.

Mr. Barrantes and Vladimir A. Zernov, the rector of RosNOU, discussed the prospects of cooperation between Russia and Costa Rica in the education sphere and the possibility of mutually beneficial ties between Russian and Costa Rican universities. In particular, the ambassador expressed his willingness to promote cooperation between RosNOU and higher education institutions of Costa Rica.

On January 18, 2010, RosNOU officials had a business meeting with DCT University Center senior staff members (http://dct.edu) (Switzerland, Vitznau). The meeting was held in the «Novotel Novoslobodskaya » hotel in Moscow.

The directory of Internet resources Web-Resurs.ru provided the award the "Best Web-Site 2009". In January 2010, the jury of the contest summed up the results.

The jury proclaimed the site of the Russian New University www.rosnou.ru the winner of the contest. The sites of Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University, ENGECON, the State Universities of Kazan, the Urals, the Far East also took part in the race for the "Best University Web-Site" award.

A university site was assesed as «a complex interactive system that combines the information capacity, usability, attractiveness, functionality».

Reviewing the conference and resulting prospects of cooperation with IIIT

The 1-st International Conference on Management of Technologies & Information Security was held in the Indian city of Allahabad from 20 until 24 of January. RosNOU Professors V.A. Zernov, V.A. Minaev, and V.P. Khrenov submitted a joint report "Discovery of the Natural Number Laws and Some Applied Aspects of Discovery". The report was published in the official conference information package "Recent Advanced in Management and Information Security" by "Shree publishers & distributors", New Delhi, a reputable Indian publishing house.

On December 12 a group of RosNOU students came to Pune, India, for their practical training courses at the I²IT University. The course is to cover a period of 3 months up to March 6.

A plenary meeting “Innovations and Education Strategies” was held in RosNOU. The meeting was arranged within the framework of the Moscow session of IX Global Strategic Forum.

The meeting was devoted to innovative methods of Russian education development in the post-crisis period.

In 2009 senior students of RosNOU Humanitarian Technologies and Foreign Languages Department, studying translation and the theory of it went to many companies and firms doing business in Russia for practical training course specified by their curriculum.
